If you enjoy the great outdoors and want to have a change of scenery for a while, you can save lots of money by replacing your expensive 5-star holiday with a few days of camping. Camping is an extremely affordable way of getting a few days holiday and having a change. If you and all of your family enjoy being outside and you want to get some fresh air for a while, pack up your camping gear and travel to your favorite camp site for a relaxing holiday!

You will obviously need to make sure that you have a tent in order to go camping. The size of the tent will depend on the amount of people going on the camping trip. You may have a tent that you think will just about fit everybody in it, but remember that you don’t want to be squashed inside the tent to the point that you feel very uncomfortable and can’t sleep at night. As it will be cold, you need to have enough room for everybody to have sleeping bags, duvets and other camping gear to help keep everyone warm.

Think carefully about the clothes that you’ll need. Even if it’s summer time, remember to pack warm clothes in case the temperature drops during the night. Always take a raincoat, as you don’t want to be stuck outside when the heavens open. If you’re staying near a lake or other water area, you could consider taking swimwear in order to have a dip and make your camping trip as memorable as possible.

If you’re taking young children on holiday with you, ensure that you take everything that they might need during the trip. A first aid kit is an absolutely must if young children are involved, as you never know what accidents may occur while outdoors!
